Thank a lot for everyone feed back. It is really helpful, I'm trying to give her some choices. However she is very determined to be naked. Last night she went to sleep naked, after taking off her bed clothes and nappy. This morning still running around naked. Oh well her sister needs to be dropped off at nursery soon!

Money saving tips for families - shall we share?
echo replied to Sanne Panne's topic in The Family Room Discussion
We are also in the 'budget' zone. Food shopping seems to be our biggest expense. I try to meal plan and I've started to use the cheaper food ranges such as 'basics' 'savers' and in my favourite- Lidls.. Not sure about how ethical their stuff is though. I also have the odd week where I try to use up all the food in the cupboard and freezer. -
'Women like us' have been promoting their website and courses in my childs nursery. The one day courses are around ?40. Are they worth attending? I'm a SAHM, looking for that elusive part time job to restore my bank balance and keep my skills up. To save on chid care costs I'm thinking about week end work.. But also things I can combine with my week day commitments. I'd appreciate any feed back on ' Women like us' and/or tips about other useful ways to reflect on my skills and plan a sensible way forward.

Another vote for childminders:) There are lots and lots of good ones around, but they can have long waiting lists. A September start is a good time, as that year's school starters would have freed up their spaces. I recommend getting the lists and start looking for ones which are nearest your home and then work out. I did and got a great one:) Anyway just go with what feels comfortable. Your baby is now only 10 weeks old, Enjoy:) You have ages before you need to go back to work.

Properly family friendly accommodation...
echo replied to buggie's topic in The Family Room Discussion
The Vale is meant to be a 'family friendly' place. I've not stayed, but nearly booked a break on the the way back home in west wales. It is the type of place the welsh football team stay? But it may, may be okay? There is lots and lots of sports facilities. I was feeling very tapped by having two kids and wanted to go a gym....! . -

what time does your 2 yr old get to bed
echo replied to lucyA1308's topic in The Family Room Discussion
On a practical note, Can you put in Black out blinds? I have similar issues including late working partner. My two girls- 3 3/4 and 1 3/4 they tend to have 'flexible' bed times between 7.30 to 9.30 ish on a bad night! My mother thinks I'm crazy. She was a lot 'firmer' with bed times in her day! I often have to hold the eldest's hand, look for monsters, get a glass of milk etc? The little one is still co-sleeping in the big bed, the eldest always wants to sleep there too. Anyone writing about this tends to suggest a routine, for example bath, story then bed? I have often wondered whether girls need less sleep? My brothers two young sons have longs nap and still go to bed at 7.30 on the dot? (teacher mum) But then they are up at 6.30 am? Mine sleep longer in the mornings. I tend to think they will grow out of it and they are still little, so when school starts..... it will all change..... -

Am I mean stopping my baby's afternoon milk!?
echo replied to jennyh's topic in The Family Room Discussion
My little one was still b/fed at this age and she drank at least 2/3 pints of cows milk per day! She drank loads of milk until at least 2.5 and now at 3 3/4 drinks very little. My belief is if baby wants it she should have it, although I am very, very child led on this one as I'm a BLW'er Why do you not want her to have milk? -

I'd never heard of this car booter, so thanks for your posting. I did go today. Not sure about it? It felt a bit strange as we were all waiting for 1.30pm despite the oragnisers being on site, even the sellers had to wait. I came away thinking that the organisers did not give two hoots for anyone and just wanted everyones money... -

Ergo Carrier: Original, Sport, or Performance?
echo replied to vch's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I have the sport. It feels too big and not quite right;( My friend has the performance, she loves hers? Those with the orignal allways seem to love theirs, too. -
Any tips for breastfeeding at a wedding... outfit etc?
echo replied to MrsMc's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I love the 'milker' range of b/f clothes. Bella Mama have a selection of different brands and dresses, have a look? I second going to Pretty Pregnant to see what dresses they have in. I find B/f dresses a bit of hit and miss affair, but I have found some which work well for me but lots which didn't. -
I recommend the BLW cook book, it has lots and lots of useful recipes. Enjoy:))

My attempts yesterday to 'make' our Grannys mothers cards were a disaster! I tried to find good places for ideas on the web, but didn't really find anywhere. Maybe just a bad day for me;) Where should I be looking? Also does any one subscribe to the 'creative mag' is seems expensive at ?7 per copy- but maybe worth it? Thanks,
-
thanks for posting the link, esp as I've missed this topic in the media. The report makes for interesting reading. The main conclusions are that BLW leads to more self control over food intake and an increased liking for carbs. The spoon feeders have higher obesity rates and prefer sweet foods.

Clary sage oil - how did you use yours?
echo replied to Pickle's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I mixed a a few drops (can't remember how much) with water and sprayed it around me:) Good luck -
When do you want to apply? this years new starters application must be in by this week/end! Depending whether supplementary info is needed. Look at their application info, it will give a guide. BUT, the missing info which no one knows are- how many siblings will there be, how many total applications and how many will apply who meet the extra's e.g. faith criteria (if applicable). There are lots and lots of threads on this topic, best of luck...
