  1. I found Greg after reading his recommendations on here last week, and I'm so glad I did! We needed some urgent decorating to be done and a few odd jobs to be completed by Friday, and they did it, and to a very high standard. The decorating involved filling a lot of hairline cracks in the walls, which was very fiddly and quite a task in the time scale. Greg arranged for Jacob to do the work as he was working elsewhere, and Jacob was great - very diligent and efficient, and a pleasure to have around. The results are far better than we hoped. Greg even came round on Sunday to fit a curtain rail that had fallen off the wall - it's clear he goes above and beyond for his clients, and is very helpful, honest and reliable with an impressive and professional work ethic. Thank you Greg & Jacob!
  2. I love Claire Tomson's, the 5 o'clock apron. Really yummy, interesting food (but accessible) for familes..She's a mum of 3 and chef..http://5oclockapron.com/
  3. Yes we love tiny gym too, much more to keep them entertained and set up changes each week. Much prefer the environment to toddler world, haven't been back there which says something!. Sometimes the earlier weekday sessions get full, so I'd just arrive 5-10 mins before. they do toddler swimming there too if you really want to wear them out!
  4. Yes - it's ok, but bit of a funny set up - find it too hot as it's in the same building as the pool. But there's a bouncy castle, and plenty of things for them to play with for an hr or so, and the park is lovely.. Hope that helps!
  5. Thank you! Really helpful - I was hoping to hear good things about any of these 3 as they're the closest to us! Plan to visit them all and see what's available. Much appreciated
  6. Hello If anyone has any Montessori nursery recommendations in the area for my 20 month old daughter, I'd be very grateful. Thanks in advance!
  7. Could not speak more highly of Hollie at London Hypnobirthing and her course - she's fantastic, I think Hypnobirthing is such a positive thing to do, helps you feel very relaxed and prepared, and it all makes so much sense. Great course for both me and my husband, and I have no doubt that it helped our birth experience hugely, I went from feeling pretty nervous about birth to feeling calm, confident and looking forward to it - she prepares you really well, and in such a positive way.
  8. Steve and his team from Sundial have just finished repairing and painting our sash windows, door step, and front gate/railings (involving painstakingly stripping off old chipped paint and re-doing with primer and top coat), and I would also highly recommend them. They've done a fantastic job, the finish is impeccable and they were really nice to work with. Everything was done to a high level of attention to detail and they were very tidy, always cleaning up after themselves. Steve was also very helpful and a pleasure to deal with. Very happy with the end result. Thanks Steve, David and Eric! sundialps.co.uk
  9. Highly recommend Steve. His service is excellent, I've used him twice for our washing machine that had things trapped in it nd it was making an awful noise, and he was quick to come round on the same day, and fix the problem in no time at all, and is a lovely chap too. He took the time to tell me what to do if it happens again, which was very helpful. Very efficient and wouldn't hesitate to use his services again! Thanks Steve!
  10. Hi all, I just want to make a recommendaiton for my brilliant cleaner - I've had her for 3 years and she's got one spot remaining in her week for one lucky household - for a 2 -3 hour clean on Monday afternoons. To fit it in, she's specifically looking for a job in the SE5 / SE15 area close to Denmark hill or Peckham Rye station - as she has another job on Ivanhoe road that day, so do contact me if that applies. I've recommended her to a friend, and also my neighbour (who has a toddler and a baby) and they are thrilled with her too. I've also successfully got her jobs through the forum. She is Bulgarian and her english is limited (but we definitely get by fine!), but she is lovely, incredibly, polite, reliable and is such a hard worker, and consistently leaves the house sparkling and spotless each week. I have a 3 bed house and have her for 3 hours each week, and she is so reliable, mshe does ironing and finds extra tasks to do that I don't expect - I'm not sure how she fits so much in. I pay her ?10 / hr, and it's very good value for money. If you want to chat to me about her I'll happily provide a reference over the phone. Send me a PM if you like? Thanks, Rachael
  11. I've also dropped some food there, after organising over email. Really friendly, they even sent a follow up email let me know my food (a lot of cereal bars) had been taken and appreciated.
  12. Hi Just to let you know that my cleaner is now booked up having got some nice new jobs from the forum - but she might have some openings in a months time, so if you read this message a month from now do PM me with your road name, no of bedrooms as a guideline, and number of hours/week or fortnight you need, and I'll be happy to ask her if she has any free time. 13. Hi all, I've just posted this in another thread, but just wanted to add my recommendation to the mix.. My cleaner is absolutely brilliant - I've had her for 2 years and she's looking for work (was in East dulwich and now I live in Peckham Rye).
