We have been patients at Sternhall Lane for years. Our experience has generally been incredibly positive with speedy responses and very helpful staff. We are generally fortunate to get a same day appointment should we really need one either at Sternhall Lane or at Tessa Jowell and any necessary referalls have been swift.

So sad to see you go - a great addition and both we and our kids loved the food, atmosphere and ice cream! Best of luck in your future endeavours and wishing you well soon.

I'm co-organising our school Christmas fair and we are looking for people who might want to hire a table to sell their wares. The fair is 2pm-5pm on Saturday 8th December at Heber School SE22. Message me if you're interested.

Royal Mail Sorting Office Closure Meeting..
EastDulwicher replied to DulwichFox's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I was back there this morning and once again couldn?t park and so ended up in Choumert Road car park again paying for the privilege. I queued for about 20 minutes and was then helped by our former postman who was super helpful, very apologetic about the situation and friendly (his colleagues could learn a lot from him). Phew! Nevertheless the situation prompted me to call Royal Mail and complain about the queues, costs and general inconvenience. I would urge others to do the same...unless we all register our frustration they will not do anything about it. tel://03457 740 740 -
Royal Mail Sorting Office Closure Meeting..

Currently standing in an extraordinarily long queue outside the Peckham sorting office. Whoever thought this was an acceptable thing to do was seriously misguided. A very large number of people waiting in excess of an hour to collect parcels - many of which were Home when the attempted delivery took place - postmen didn?t even knock! Postmen are fed up with it as are the public - I?ve alrwady spent over ?2 on parking having spent 15 minutes driving around to find a pay parking space.... I?m likely to have to top it up. I?ve no idea what elderly residents in East Dulwich are going to do and am dreading the dark, cold, wet winters as I can?t see this improving - even the postmen and staff are saying it?s a complete joke and totally unfair on all.... Something needs to change.... mind you Royal Mail have sold Silvester Road for an apparent ?7 million so I doubt they give two hoots... -
So sad to hear this and really cannot fathom why people would see this as an appropriate time to make jokes. Thank goodness nobody was hurt but I so feel for the owner and staff for whom this is a livelihood as it will be a journey and take time to get it back to where is was. I for one will also miss their delicious food in the meantime. Hoping that the recovery is straightforward and not too stressful for them all

I used Dave From McHow off the back of NUMEROUS positive comments on this thread. I will be using him whenever I need a super friendly, trust worthy, honest, punctual, very skilled plumber. And will recommend him to anyone who needs the same. After my electrics tripped and ultimately killed my boiler, I went looking for a recommended plumber (via the ED forum). I found Dave and he was round as soon as he could... good plumbers are not available at the drop of a hat. He was worth the wait, we explored repairing the boiler, which I decided against given I have already thrown ?100?s at (at regular frequencies). And was able to advise which boiler I should get for a house which may expand ( because of a loft conversion). Something not all plumbers asked . He fitted the boiler in a day, flushed the system 2 days later... again something others didn?t mention/recommend. He was a pleasure to have on-site and I cannot recommend him highly enough!

Oh no that is such a shame - such great pasta and our daughters loved seeing it made.

Hi there, how do we sign up? Many thanks

I couldn't agree more - it's beautiful and is attracting butterflies and bees etc and the kids are instantly attracted to all of the colours. Long may it last!

Hi, our large Thule roof box was stolen off our estate car last night on Bawdale road. It must have been pre-meditated as it's not the type of thing that anybody could walk along the road with. It contained all of my family's outdoor clothing, several pairs of welly boots, some children'a toys etc. Please PM me if you saw anything or if you're aware of anybody trying to sell on something similar. We've told the Police and hope this isn't happening to lots of people but wanted you to be aware.

Thank you that's really helpful although I don't think my childminder would do school pick up but it's certainly worth me asking. I appreciate your response - thank you.

Hi there, Having had my daughter on a waiting list for almost 18 months at two nurseries, I am panicking now about what to do about childcare for her. She's currently at a childminder and we're really happy with her care but she's a bright button and her contemporaries have all moved away from the area or onto other provisions and we are really keen that she moves onto the next stage where being with more children (and no longer being the oldest)and being introduced to new activities she will be more stimulated and be able to develop new friendships. Any advice welcome, she will be three in March and so we are not in a position to join another 18 month waiting list. The nursery will need to be in East Dulwich or very close by. Many thanks in advance - really appreciate any ideas/advice on this one.
