Just saw this - specifically Army? My daughter was with the RAF cadets who meet at the hall on Lordship Lane (Forest Hill end - https://www.1475.org/) and really enjoyed it. She learned a lot and made some good friends from different schools. I know they are currently open to new recruits. Feel free to DM if any questions...

Has anyone replaced kitchen cabinet doors & worktops?
BeccaL replied to Bumpkin's topic in The Family Room Discussion
We used Mr Worktop in Camberwell (about 4 years ago) and they were very good. The joiners on Northcross Road might be able to advise on cutting/fitting new doors. -

New Avengers movie.. suitable for 7&9 year old?

You can also look on IMDB - all films have a parents guide, though this one doesn't have a lot of detail as it's so new. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt4154756/parentalguide?ref_=tt_stry_pg - kind of depends on your kids and how they react to violence in particular. -
Secondary school - kids with working parents
BeccaL replied to damzel's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Agree children grow up a lot. Depends on the child, but daughter happy at home from about 3.50 to about 5.30 (changed my hours to start and finish earlier when she went to secondary school, as she was leaving house earlier so I could get to work earlier). Still some holiday clubs but not as many as for little ones - try to get her to coordinate doing things with friends to get her out and about. -
Temporary tarmac filling doesn't last very long - the pot hole on the roundabout in Dulwich village at the top of Burbage Road has been filled twice this year, but the tarmac just comes straight out again. False economy in my view...

Recommendation for football for 5 yr old
BeccaL replied to avb's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Hi Anna M - session is *probably* 9.30am but I don't have a 5yo so not certain. You can message Athenlay via https://www.facebook.com/AthenlayFootballClub/ to get more information. -
We love ours - were debating getting gas put to kitchen for a gas hob when had kitchen redone but as builder pointed out gas isn't going to get any cheaper. Find it heats up/cools down very quickly - will boil a pan of water for potatoes quicker than daughter and I can peel the potatoes for 3 people. Only downside is need for new pans but Ikea have some very good, reasonably priced ones - you need to have a magnet with you when you go pan shopping to be sure! PM if any more queries.

IMDB.com - each film (unless it's very new) has a parents guide at the bottom which details what goes on in each film. Find it more and more useful as daughter gets older and wants to watch films that we watch...
