This dark pink Habitat armchair has loose covers which can be removed and cleaned Still looks pretty good overall, but the front part of the base is slightly broken - as shown in the pic, it is hanging down slightly on one side - and needs fixing by someone practical. We don't think it's a huge job, but we haven't got space for it any more so don't feel it's worth us fixing - and we no longer have a car, which makes it a bit harder to take to the tip! Let us know if you want to take it on! From a pet-free, smoke-free home Collection near Goose Green/Bellenden School

Decorator / Bathrooms / Refurb - Gary Skinner - 07572 588222
akc74 replied to firstchoicegary's topic in Reviews
Over the summer, Gary and his team did a complete refurb of our bathroom. It was a complicated, and fiddly job, with architects drawings to follow, and the inevitable surprises thrown up when you rip out a room in a Victorian house! He worked through the challenges with us as they happened, and we’re really pleased with the finished result. He has some really good guys working for him, and the quality of tiling etc has been great.- 134 replies

Yes I can second what's been said above - we applied last year (and live at the Anstey end of Nutbrook St) and were initially 49 on the waiting list; whereas this year, another family equidistant are right at the top of the list already.

Can someone clarify if you were to do a hyper local journey in ED/PR that didn't involving crossing the South Circular would it def involve being charged every time? Are there loads of cameras within the zone itself?! I should know this.... and I will soon find out (!) but obviously we use the car relatively little as it is, just wondering re these occasional journeys i need to do.

Travelling to and from Kingsdale (Peckham Rye)
akc74 replied to akc74's topic in The Family Room Discussion
All very helpful thanks! -
I'm interested in understanding the preferred methods of transport, particularly in Yr 7 from kids living at the Peckham Rye end of East Dulwich. For now my son is signed up to the school bus, which seems to work quite well in the morning. After school you seem to have sit and wait for 30-40 minutes before it leaves, though. Cycling seems the way forward, I think we need to build his confidence a bit and then aim to switch to that. Thanks in advance for any experiences.

Still interested to hear from anyone starting in September 9regardless of meeting up before the taster day). -
Harris Boys East Dulwich - Sept 2021 new starters
akc74 posted a topic in The Family Room Discussion
Our son is due to start at Harris Boys in September. I am interested in hearing from families who are also starting at HBAED and am thinking it might be nice to intro a few of the boys to each other before the taster day in a few weeks. Please DM me if you're interested. Thanks. -
Excuse ignorance, as I don't drive through DV often, never during the week - BUT I got fined coming home to Peckham on bank holiday Monday. Surely Sunday rules should apply on bank holidays? (leaving aside the fact that the whole thing sounds a bit bonkers)

Our experience of the music scholarship tests were that they were fairly rigorous, and with hindsight I probably shouldn't have put my son through it as he wasn't quite at the standard required. However, I don't think it's all grade-based, more about natural ability - though there was quite a big theory element to the process (from what little I could get out of my son afterwards!).

Yep we've also had an update from our first choice school and have gone up about 7 places, but we're still over 40 places to go, so we know we have to move on re that one!

Kingsdale have sent out updated waiting list positions today - does anyone know if Southwark do the same today, or if that only happens if you ask for it? Thanks
-
I believe so, I think the process of recruiting a replacement must currently be happening

We are about 970m from HBAED (and 930m from Charter ED) - we put HB 4th and got it
