Hi there, I am currently on day 18 of one called 'The 30 day shred' It is put together by Jillian Michaels, the trainer from The Biggest Loser in America. It is 20 minutes long, has 3 different levels that you go through throughout the month, and i am finding it is toning up quite a lot of 'untoned' (to put it nicely) areas. I got it for ?5 off ebay and am really enjoying it (well as much as you can enjoy putting yourself through pain :) Goodluck with the search

We are going to try the new Gymboree on Mondays in Herne Hill. My little one is 11 months and i think she will enjoy it now she is on the move. Our class is at 10.30, i think. They have a free trial week so you should try it out and see if your little boy would like it. http://www.gymboree-uk.com/franchisee.php?id=132 might see you there :)

I have found this wonderful website and app for my ipod and i thought i would share it with you just incase other people are looking for something like it. www.myfitnesspal.com It is wonderful and easy to use. It is, in basic form, a calorie counter but I have found it really helpful to keep me on track with how much food i eat throughout a day (and it is free). It really has helped me loose some of my baby weight (well actually excessive chocolate eating after the baby weight) and thought others might like to try it. Happy Counting

I was looking to buy some Tupperware the other day, and i'm pretty sure there is no local seller of that. I would throw you your first party to practice on :)

Best 'routine' book for toddlers (esp. boys)?
dan4courtz replied to Lochie's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I'm from New Zealand, and we all use a wonderful book called. 'Of course i love you, now go to your room'.. It is really clear at setting out boundaries, learning to use discipline and talks about the different personality styles. Its a really great read and the author, Diane Levy, is a wonderful woman who has spent alot of years helping families to deal with behavioural issues. http://www.fishpond.co.nz/Books/Health_Wellbeing/Family_Relationships/Parenting/9781869415143/ -
Gripe water is a wonderful invention. If you put it on a sterilised spoon, and put it up to his mouth he should lick it in...like a cat having milk, cutest thing in the world. You can give it before a feed and after, its herbal so there is no over using it. Hope your little one clears up quickly.

Tuesday activity for a 4 year old - suggestions please
dan4courtz replied to Toad1973's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Just to let you know, we attempted to go to Toddler World and they have put the price up...something like ?4.50 each..and are now charging for children 6 months and older..so turns out to be an expensive outing when you are taking two little ones. But other than that, i second the Toddler world. -
Dulwich Village Preschool has morning and afternoon sessions aswell. It is just along from buds and is a wonderful little nursery. Think it is ?8 per session (2.5 hours)...but don't quote me :) http://www.dulwichvillagepreschool.com/

I found a Green Micro Scooter at Peckham Rye Park this morning, and hope to find the owner via this wonderful forum. If you are missing one or know of someone who has lost one at Peckham Rye park please get them to PM me with their details and the details of the scooter. I know how cherished these are by our little ones (not to mention expensive) and have seen a scooter be given back to its owner vis this forum before...so hope we can do it again :) Thanks heaps

Southwark Christmas tree collection info.
dan4courtz replied to dan4courtz's topic in The Family Room Discussion
feel free to post wherever you like, this is the only area of the forum i tend to use so is the place i thought to put it. good luck removing your trees :) -
Sad to see another Christmas go by and the trees start to be put away, but I was just searching Southwark website to find out when the real Christmas Trees can be collected by the refuse men. And thought i would post the page here to save you all spending the time searching for it like i had to. http://wasteservices.southwark.gov.uk/index.asp it says it will be collected on the same day as your green waste and if you put your postcode in it can tell you when that next is. hope you all had a lovely Christmas time.

Where to get xmas decorations within bus ride
dan4courtz replied to reren's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I got a wonderful cheap set from Argos last year. There is one on Peckham high street and you could reserve it online so you know it won't be a wasted journey. Good luck with the hunt -
Just wondering if anyone knows when the real Christmas Trees start arriving on Lordship Lane. I have two little ones who are keen to get the 'Christmas Spirit' into the house and are doing my head in with their dedication to the topic :)
