Well it looks like good news - if they aren't scared off completely. Harris have pulled the existing plans due to issues raised by objectors and the Council - they are delaying the school for a year which seems a little Harsh. Lets hope the revised plans are better. Pity they didn't consult properly in the first place.

Eat there quite often - mainly because it is so quiet EVEN on a sunny saturday lunchtime and my 5 year old is a bit naughty. The food IS too expensive and last Saturday the sandwich bread was stale - but replaced without protest. The old landlord left because Youngs wanted more cash and they felt it wouldnt work as a gastro pub - and is it working ? No ! They need to get seats for normal people rather than giants (I can lend them a saw) and have a few reasonably priced pub grub type meals then they will have really busy sunny lunchtimes again.

Just because it is a School - (and perhaps beause it is a Public Building) it doesnt mean that it shouldnt be an attractive and sympathetic buillding when possible. As for parking you need to be practical of course those teachers not lucky enough to get in the small car park will need somewhere to park and other seemingly minor details like how do refuse vehicles get in and out? are quite important. A building like this is going to need a lot of services and we have to make sure they are all there. Thats why its called planning.

I work with an inmate of william Penn (which is where the Charter is) IT WAS BAD BAD BAD BAD ! But the Charter which replaced it is doing quite well. What used to happen was Dulwich Kids would go to Lewisham and Lambeth KIds would go to William Penn.One of the WHOLE points of the EDEN Campaign was to have a LOCAL school.

Not aware of a boys school or co-ed in East Dulwich Girls provision is old Waverley (Now a Harris Academy)

As I Read it the School will OPEN with a YEAR 7 Intake. Building up to full capacity by 2015 so they are looking to the future not looking to fill it immediatly. I believe this is quite common with new schools

Excelent food, friendly staff they've got rid of the nice bay area at the back I always had my Birthday Bashes there - there's a bar there now but apart from that and breakfast menu YET its a happy addition to East Dulwich (or as the Liberal Council says Nunhead!)

As the father of an Autistic Son I suggest that anyone who even jokingley suggests a beating from a childs fellow pupils because he needs a lift to school deserves a thorough beating himself himself

Excuse me Doesn't NIMBY stand for "Not In My back yard?" NOT AS WE HAVE HERE "Yes fine actually we want a School but can you change it a bit?" There's nothing wrong with contributing to and joining in with the Planning and Consultation process isn't that part of what being a good citizen is ALL ABOUT. And thats what the Consulation Process is there for.
