  1. There are lifts in the Harris design - for disabled only. Looking at the City Academy in Rotherhithe I could see NO grounds at all suprised it got through. Anyone know how it is doing? Has it exploded yet? 2. Has the Green Closed or are they buiding on Goose Green?
  3. Its a bit misleading as the building meets standards its the grounds that arent big enough.
  4. Do you think it was a satisfactory arrangement?
  5. I have just seen the outlines of Harris's new scheme. They have completly taken on the planning objections that residents raised. It has been moved away from the gardens and the edge of Friern Road and the entrances are now all on Forest Hill Road. After us all being called Nimbys and Lord Harris called worse (amazing how much childish name calling is started when you build a school!) I think we have all got a scheme we can live with. I also discovered that the internal space meets space requirements. Its only when external space is added that the ratio is to low. How about Harris spending some money on ED Leisure centre to upgrade it and then can share it and ED gets an better leisure centre? I am suprised that Harris won't come along and explain how 950 boys can be educated satisfactorily when they seem so convinced they can. There are some who arent convinced and they need convincing. I also agree that it would be great if the school was built on 20 acres of park land (at least it is near) with rolling hills in the background - buts its South London not the South Downs! Mind you I never did the point of that Golf Course - How many locals use that?!
  6. No public mmeetings dont have to have police.
  7. So we have to AVOID ALL CHEMISTS in East Dulwich to make sure we don't use the dodgy one. Nice one.
  8. E-BY GUM On line sweet suppliers
  9. E- Like in Email or E-tail Retailing on the Internet Buying and selling on the internet. Simple
  10. I must admit I d rather junkies were exchanging needles at a Doctors Premises rather than in the Park or some anonymous house. Maybe we SHOULD have a Needle Exchange.
  11. I agree, I believe the test is whether the service would cause any other chmist to close due to loss of business. Since Chemists are highly regulated it is felt they cannot be left to the free market. It WOULD be great to have a chemist open in the evening!
  12. There are at least 5 Dispensing pharmacys in the area
  13. its the final line that is important whether any of the services proposed are already provided within the neighbourhood;
  14. Except that some of the Services are already provided. Ashwin Tanna Objected to Sainsburys a while back and they couldnt open a dispensary.
  15. Here's part of the 2005 NHS Act The ?control of entry? test (or ?necessary or desirable? test) 2.12 As mentioned above, ?control of entry? is shorthand to describe the system whereby Primary Care Trusts assess under regulation 12 only whether the grant of an application is necessary or desirable for a new pharmacy to dispense NHS prescriptions in order to secure adequate pharmaceutical services in a particular neighbourhood. 2.13 Once an application is received, the Primary Care Trust invites, as soon as practicable, a range of interested local parties to give views. 2.14 Views have to be made known to the Primary Care Trust within 45 days of the date the notification is sent out. This is extended from the previous 30-day period for consultation4. 2.15 Primary Care Trusts determine applications under regulation 24 and are generally free to determine them as they see fit. However, regulation 12(2) requires Primary Care Trusts to take account of certain particular factors. These include ? whether any of the services proposed are already provided within the neighbourhood; 3
  16. HOPE THIS MAKES SENSE 18. The PCT must be satisfied that when a doctor wishes to apply to dispense, it would not prejudice the proper provision of medical, pharmaceutical or dispensing services locally. This is known as the ?prejudice? test. There is no ?control of entry? test for a doctor to pass. However, a chemist wishing to open in a rural area must pass both the ?control of entry? and ?prejudice? tests.
  17. Its NOTHING To do with planning Law its Section 2 of the Fair Trading Act 1973. However it IS proposed that Pharmacys that open for more than 100 hours are exempt.
  18. I can confirm that there is no requirement for police to attend mettings. There is a requirement to consult when a new chemist opens.
  19. A 24 hour pharmacy round the corner sounds great when does it open? I often need stuff and the chemist shuts at 6. I wish the Doctor was open outside office hours so I didnt have to take time off work to see them
  20. Is you go over it slowly its fine - so its doing its job!
  21. Excellent idea to use the Park for playing - thats what its for! Not so keen on sewage though
  22. Yes apparently the Council Doesn't want an ugly building on Peckham Rye whereas those selfish parents don't care about what the area looks like - ... or do they? Well as a parent myself I'd rather get the building right. Ok. Any more ?
