Recommendations for a nursery that offers half days?
shen replied to Bertdul's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I was looking for a morning nursery and I think Butterfly Lane and EDG nursery offer half days. Have also just discovered the below nursery: https://www.abcstudiochildcare.co.uk/ Not half days but not as long as many nursery days and the outdoor spaces look great. I?m going to have a look around when they reopen in a few weeks. Hope this is useful and you find somewhere. -
I was taking 3 parcels to the Hermes lockers at petrol station on East Dulwich Road and 2 have dropped of the buggy. If anyone has seen them please let me know. Have retraced my steps twice and no sign. Route included Oglander Road, Marsden, Ondine and Adys. Thank you! One is in green plastic and a small one in brown paper.

Could there possibly be a dead rodent under the floorboards somewhere? Horrible thought but a likely cause.

October half term activity club
shen replied to Holiday Champs's topic in The Family Room Discussion
My kids also love it. Only holiday club I can say that about. And as someone who lives close by the shrieks of laughter from the playground are a pretty good advert also. -
Same thing happened to us on Oglander last year. There is a thread somewhere about it but can?t find it now. Reluctant to plant new plants this year in case happens again. Thinking of planting lavender as my next door neighbour?s new lavender was not stolen. The thief is evidently not a fan.

I also have received an email today saying my original parcel is now out for delivery today (despite originally saying it had been delivered and signed for by me). Very strange. And annoying as new items have been sent out and now I need to return these when they arrive. On a positive note hopefully this shows issues are slowly being resolved and service improving.

Same thing happened to me on 11th December with my husband?s Christmas present. Say delivered and signed for by me (I was at work) with an unrecognisable signature. No card to say elsewhere as according to Royal Mail it was delivered to my house and no parcel either. Did ask neighbours but nobody had it. The sender is now sending out new items (however they were understandably suspicious of me which was not very pleasant) but obviously too late for Christmas. Not sure how this happened but leaves me reluctant to use Royal Mail which is a shame.

We live on Oglander Road and over the last few weeks we have had people stealing plants from our front garden. The first time they took about 5 leaving behind 4 less healthy ones. We nursed these ones back to health only to have the three most healthy ones nicked a few days ago. Now only one not so healthy plant left, as soon as it perks up I fully expect it to be stolen too. I know it's not a huge crime but it is annoying. And all in daylight. First time they even left a plastic gardeners tray behind! Edited to say at least they did it neatly. The first time they even filled in the holes.

Laundry detergent for baby with eczema??
shen replied to LouLouMoving's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Fairy is supposed to be the one to use but in my family it seems to exacerbate it. Both my husband and one child suffer. We have found person non bio to be the best. And aveeno works wonders as well as a moisturiser. There is a baby version. Good luck! -

Hello, Goose Green does 9- 3.20 Monday to Wednesday. My daughter loved it. She is now in reception at Goose Green.
-
My 3 year old went and loved it. A few moments of "I want to go home" due more to sad scenes than scary scenes, but soon got over these moments and still talking about it. Her older 9 year old brother also loved it.

Hi, I had to really think about this and get corroboration because I'd forgotten parts! I went to my partner's dentist - a very upmarket but honest lovely dentist. He took the x-ray and showed the shadow and told me to go to kings. I went and queued I think (so self-referred??). They were lovely and showed me same shadow and recommended removal. They were very professional and honest throughout. I can definitely remember that without any help.
-
Yes sorry did not want to unnecessarily worry you. We had x Rays at normal dentist and they asked us to refer to Kings and they advised removal. I know it can be fine (I hoped it would be) But I just wanted to reassure you that if the worst comes to the worst and the tooth goes it's not that bad. But at the time I cried and cried.

Hi, Yes this happened to my son one Easter (though he bumped into a wall not an Easter bunny) Same thing happened - it went grey though no pain. I took him to King's dental department and they advised removal of the tooth to ensure the adult teeth were not damaged. I was upset at the time but now looking back he did look quite cute with a missing front tooth. Now at 9 he has healthy adult teeth. Also he was not bothered by the procedure at all due to the drugs they gave him and we had some interesting conversations on the way home. Good luck!

Family friendly hotels in Cambridge?
shen replied to Bonfire2010's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Hi, I can also vouch for the doubletree. Spacious, helpful and a great location. A bit soulless but the rest of Cambridge is so lovely it doesn't really matter. Have fun! -

Pampers V Huggies for a newborn baby girl
shen replied to EatLessBread's topic in The Family Room Discussion
There are no Huggies nappies now! Withdrawn over Europe so they can concentrate on wipes. However I used to swear by Huggies finding them softer than pampers for my now 6 yr old son. But with my baby daughter I have to say supermarket nappies much better than used to be so now use them or else Naty (also much Improved in 6 years) if they're on special. Also can I just say how great Jackson Reece kinder by nature wipes are. I find myself raving in the street about them to complete strangers given half a chance. I stock up,when a third off in Sainsbury's as quite expensive - 2 quid a pack! But great on delicate skin and very moist. I think their branding is a bit off and the bright colours may put people off - look very artificial when in fact the opposite is true. Ok advertorial over. But like I said I'm a big fan. -
Advice on living through a loft conversion
shen replied to devsdev's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Hi, We have just had our loft done by Loft Life. It really was not that bad. I had a pre crawling baby and a 6 year old at the time and we managed without a huge amount of disruption. It can be noisy, especially at the beginning. As far as dust, the builders put down plastic covers over the carpet on the stairs and also sealed up doors on days when they broke through. There was still dust, but it contained most of it. They also hoovered every evening before leaving however I still mopped down as well to keep the dust down. The beginning bit before they break through despite being noisy is the least obtrusive for you as it's all from outside. The end bit is also quite easy, as final fit, and plumbing etc is quite contained in the loft. Obviously the plastering causes dust. However we found it dried quickly and as soon as we got the first undercoat on the walls it stopped the dust. PM me if want to know anymore. Good luck. It's great when all done and well worth the hastle! -
Recommendations for hypoallergenic sun cream?
shen replied to newtoedf's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Hi, My son seems to have problems with even hypoallergenic creams as well. We have found Swiss formula sun cream to be good. We get it at john Lewis. Also it works all day even if you go in water which I find a lifesaver. -
