Very sad to say that little Mackerel passed away last week - she was hit by a car. She will be much missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.

I've used the Emergency Vets in Streatham a few times, once on Christmas Day! They're obviously more expensive than your standard vets but we've always been happy with the way they've looked after our cats. I seem to remember you have to book in first by phone when they'll also tell you how much the consultation fee will be. The on-call vet is there all night I think, so if you're worried about your dog and want to speak to someone before the morning, just give them a call now. Hope he feels better soon.

The Winter Garden at the Landmark hotel is nice and it's a lovely setting. I can't remember having seen young children there but it's part of the hotel so I'm sure they'd be welcome. Also Brumus at the Haymarket Hotel is quite nice - small and intimate, very good service the few times I've been there. Hope you have a good time wherever you choose!

Hi Barry, I've just taken my parents to East Dulwich to get the train to London Bridge. Ticket office closed, ticket machine not working (showing error message "out of tickets"), permit to travel machine not working. Pretty bad when none of the three methods of buying a ticket are not operational. Hopefully they'll find an understanding person manning the ticket barriers at London Bridge so they don't get fined!
