  1. can't remember many times being able to drive at 20mph on lordship lane for years. certainly not now there are pedestrian lights every six feet. it is all loony.. any main road is for traffic. it has cost a fortune to tackle a problem that wasn't there
  2. I have just been told by a lordship lane shopkeeper that mary portas may be involved in this new venture
  3. I have heard that the hairdresser who was planning to take over moo too's space is no longer going to happen. does anyone know who is coming in?

you did not have to take the cafe thread down. you chose to. it was not in any way actionable or libellous. you just chickened out against not very big guns. well done. sleep easy tonight
  5. there isn't any sort of guide price. if the money is right maybe waitrose......
  6. I must say the coffee place that must not be mentioned do seem to be so far up their coffee grinder that they stumble about in darkness. get over yourselves coffeeanon.

    all sewn up?

the sewing shop formerly known as mootoo is, I gather, going to be a hairdresser. sew, there you are.
  8. I was bending over to look in a shop window on lordship lane a few months ago when a child on a bike rode into me. I ticked him off and his father came up and shouted at me to "look where you are effing going". funny old world
  9. you are by anbd large too far up yourselves. we have lived in ed since 1988. we liked it then and grew to love it. I doubt if we will ever leave. I feel most forumites will never really be happy anywhere
  10. ignore peckhampam. she sounds pretty miserable herself. you have suffered hell at the hands (feet) of your disgusting neighbour. the fact is that you will have to move. she isn't going to, so sadly it is you going. sooner the better, but give haart and the landlord a verbal and written kicking on the way out. you could, of course, superglue the key to her front door.... but that would be a rotten thing to do and should not be even considered. oh no. absolutely not
  11. too small for starbucks. they are looking at the clothes exchange store next to the edt, which has two oovels
  12. disappointing programme. east dulwich got barely a mention plus a few shots of lordship lane, majoring on the a-board outside the defunct sewing shop. beats me how forest hill is preferable to us.
  13. what a little smartiepants you are!
  14. there will be no widening or change to dog off-leads areas in peckham rye park. that was made quite clear to the meeting on saturday by coouncilor barrie hargrove, southwark's head of parks and open spaces. this assurance was given with no qualifications or get-out clauses so we take it ss kosher. peckham rye park is now officially wonderful for everyone on two legs or four!
  15. still ongoing, but no one is there today working to get it finished. silly of me to expect anything, of course!
  16. could not agree more with both previous posts. the dog owner was a disgrace and so are the litter louts. sadly the park warden has that effect on many he "has a word" with. he is much a nightmare as the people he deals with
  17. peckham rose, you are wrong! the sexby garden was never an on lead area and there were never any signs saying that it was. I have no doubt that the council's current anti-dog pogrom plans have included such a ban
  18. these "new" lights (never demanded by residents, but installed at great exepense) were once again knackered over the bank holiday weekend. it was the usual problem of the colyton road lights staying on red, forcing motorists to take a chance and jump the red or turning round going the very long way around peckham rye. can nothing be done to ensure that these lights work properly? we are all getting very fed up with it.
  19. terrific turnout yesterday for the fair play for dogs photo session. more than 45 owners and their many dogs were there (not an unpicked up poo in sight) and the pix should be in southwark news later this week. all sensible dog supporters should be at the clock house pub on saturday morning at 10 for a meeting to discuss the campaign.
  20. probably going the elfansafety way of all things. fill it in. kids could drown, pigs could fly etc
  21. road from goose green to rye lane taped off by police after an incident involving a bus. anyone know what happened?
  22. this whole issue is being conducted by southwark in its usual cack-handed manner. no one really knows what they have in mind, except that it will enrage the maximum number of people (and probably dogs). the dog free area is called the arboretum just beyond the sexby gardens. dogs are strictly banned there, but it doesn't help when the yummy mummies leave a gate open!
  23. there are already football pitches in peckham rye park, surely the harris boys could use them, although they should not have any ownership of them
  24. clearly credibility is in the eye of the beholder, ms burgess
  25. dug up at the LL junction yet again. this time temporary lights and one way traffic. how many more time is this junction going to be knackered?
