  1. I had an email from st james the other day in which he stated without qualification that hardly anyone wants a cpz. he added that in fact very few of the people in the streets affected wanted it either. this, he said, was "very awkward" for him. yes, jimmy baby, being an honest politican is sometimes tough. bear in mind that we all have long memories. abstaining is NOT good enough. you must vote with the overwhelming wishes of the people. anything else is wriggling and smokescreen. I know that is what the lib dems seem do best, but just this once do the right and democratic thing.
  2. this guy hargrove is even more extraordinary than barber. presumably they were both quite happy to be elected by a majority. good enough for them, but apparently not good enough for us. we must, er um..I..I.. erm (to quote hargrove) let them decide for us by these obviously highly sophisticated voices in their heads. well, stuff that! and them too!
  3. does anyone know if this lady (her name is lisa) is still around?
  4. perhaps this strange cove will be relieved to hear that he can now get an actual waitrose home delivery, rather than the highly disorganised and somewhat unreliable ocado we have put up with with some years.
  5. helicopter just landed on peckham rye park. bright red. poss air ambulsnce
  6. dulwich hamlet is roughly where it was before/ you can still see one of the old floodlight towers.

  8. this is a forum, not lecture hall. ffs, keep it short. I am too old to attempt starting this mammoth screed
  9. my fellow traders are shutting their shops. I will stick around for a while. no sign of LL being shut by the cops. traffic still noving
  10. what does james barber mean when he says lordship lane shopping area is a worse crash location than other places. we have a shop on lordship lane and I have NEVER seen a crash outside or anywhere near. over to you jimmy
  11. djkillaqueen cannot be real. he/she/it is a very serious pain in the rear end (the one near the lavatory block so stop moaning).
  12. I would never take my doggies anywhere that was common!
  13. I believe that neighbouring shops also know this woman. the police have a dvd of the woman stealing. they are fully behind the posters in the windows.
  14. the fact is that drivers in this country, and particularly i london, drive way too fast as a matter of course. some cars treat residential side roads like race tracks. they even whizz along lordship lane, which is loony. it is the british mentality I'm afraid
  15. lordship lane does get a daily collection of trade refuse. shopkeepers put the rubbish out as they close and it is gone in the morning. I believe they also do some other trade collections during the day. mind you, the businesses pay thru the nose for the service
  16. stay tued... tanna's chemist (next to empty threshers) is closing at the end of next week and relocating to the med centre in melbourne road.
  17. water pressure is right down in scutari road area. is this something to do with the wet looking roadworks on peckham rye (where they dug everything up earlier in the year)?
  18. VAT is currently 17.5%. it goes up to 20% in january.
  19. dogs, foxes, I really do think almost everything on four legs (cats fpor shure) should be exterminated to save the angst of east dulwich pontificators
  20. there has been a mini-lake around a tree at the rye end of the bottom field for some weeks. this is where the original rye, I think, is undergound. also water level in the pond by the oval is unusually high, particularly as we have no real rain for ages. I hope the council is going to sort this out before it gets worse
  21. have you considered the police?
  22. we have four or five parakeets of both sexes feeding from the array of bird feeders in our incredibly lovely garden. a beautiful sight they are too
  23. I have sent a private msg telling him/her that someone has put up a notice in the park appealing for the return of his digital camera
  24. I walk my two jacks every morning and always pick up. so do all the other dog owners I know. of course, there are back sliders everywhere, but I do feel the people on this forum love to magnify dog problems. some of you won't be happy until dogs are banned everywhere.
