I agree Fishbiscuits, well said

You could have been a touch more original in your first post Luke100m. What next, strange goings on in Pizza places...

We had jab at Tessa Jowell and were automatically given second jab date in April.

Actually Niall, yes. I do have to have injections into my eyeball every couple of months so know exactly what it would involve.it would be absolutely nothing Compared to what the NHS staff on the Covid wards are facing everyday.

I think the answer is both, we had Oxford on Sunday but my friend had Pfizer there the week before. I presume it is about supplies available at the time.

Anyone Do the Clap for Heroes ??
colville09 replied to natty01295's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
All of us must be feeling we can do little to help except by keeping out of the way and not adding to the problems but instead of clapping when prompted, a little cash to local charities each week is making me feel much better at the moment. -
Thank you, made me feel much better to give to the amazing Kings than a stage managed clap.I wish we could do more.

Please stop the 'virtue signalling' doolallysally, it is thoughtless and unkind. -
Sneaky unbranded Tory leafelting on TfL - epic fail!
colville09 replied to Dogkennelhillbilly's topic in The Lounge
Is that legal? Surely it is a classic case of 'Passing off' (an Internet explanation is 'happens when someone deliberately or unintentionally passes off their goods or services as those belonging to another party. This action of misrepresentation often damages the goodwill of a person or business, causing financial or reputational damage')I would think a complaint to the electoral Commission in order. -
Thank you Mirash, always knew you did amazing food but I now know you have amazing kindness to match.

We get a visit from our councillors about once a year. They send a letter saying they are visiting our road and drop in to ask if we have any issues. Obviously with Covid it has not happened recently but previously it has happened for years and no, it was not Mr Barber, it was our regular Labour ones.

After the Odeon Cinema on Grove Vale closed down it became a Divine Light temple for a time in the 1970s and then a watchmaking / clock factory and when that closed, was demolished.

I totally agree that now is the time to reflect if anything we do supports modern day slavery like trainers made by child slave labour, electronics and some nail bars. Seems a much better idea rather than another statue (to yet another dead male) that a scholarship to encourage local BAME kids to consider / help a career within medicine like the worthy Dr Moody would be a much better idea.

I am so so sorry for this horrible situation, I really feel for you. The Police may say in general terms that he is within in his rights to kill foxes on his property but the bare facts are a) there were gunshots coming from his property and b)he has now threatened you. They should be interviewing him to establish the facts, it might at least make him consider that threatening people is not acceptable and for them to ascertain if he did use a licensed 'contractor'. And provide evidence to them. Easy for me to say and again, so so sad for what you have experienced.
-
I think you have to really have to establish / gather the facts and the laws to make this person responsible for their actions. Is it illegal to shoot foxes when they are nursing Cubs. Is it legal to discharge firearms in an urban area. Did the 'contractor' need to register his intentions with the police. I think you should ask the police if they should be interviewing your neighbour to establish the facts because from what you say, gun shots were heard coming from their property at one in the morning. We don't live in a rural setting with massive gardens where a 'professional' marksman could safely operate.
-
Beyond the immediate rescue of any Cubs, it seems to me the important thing is to collect evidence and statements now from witnesses to document what happened. Get them in the form of written, signed and dated materials. Prepare it as a body of evidence to go to court. I am certain you would be able to crowd fund for a private prosecution for the unnecessary suffering. I would contribute, but you have to collect the evidence. I too am really concerned about the use of firearms in an urban area, was this done with police sanction. Establish all the facts on the 'contractor'and the the person who employed them. If they think they had a right to do this let them stand up and be identified. Yes, it will be neighbours cats at risk if they feel they can do this. From what you say they could have put physical barriers in place.

The sculpture, carved from the trunk of the dead tree that stood there, was made by fab South London artist Morganico (http://www.morganico.com.I think it was made around 2014.

As fascinating as these posts are, would not they be better in lounge section of forum as a general discussion. They are not strictly related to our local area. Can't say backing Trump's attempt to disempower the WHO is equal to a call for donations for our local food bank. Just a thought

Goose Green councillors - how can we help?
colville09 replied to jamesmcash's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Dear James and TE44, speaking as a sharer on an allotment on Rosendale allotments please be assured that the committee there has put in place strict guidelines about social distancing and working the plots. It has made provision for handing washing and shut down any communal areas like the shop and tool hire. It has also self organised a system for using any plot that cannot for any reason be used by the plotholder so there would be no reason for a call for volunteers to grow food on them or they are going to waste in any way. The allotments are extremely well run by passionate, responsible people. As for people using their plot during this time, even apart from excercise, growing good food while keeping a distance, the allotments are vital for their users mental health. Our allotments, hundred years old this year, are on land leased by Dulwich College. I think that there are few council owned allotment sites because they sold them off years ago which was tragic. -
Speaking as an allotment sharer on the Rosendale site there are strict time limits on when you can bonfires (Nov till March I seem to recall) and above all the allotments strive to be good neighbours. It hosts plots for local schools and community groups among other things as well as increasing bio diversity in the area. If you experience problems, contact the site officers who will help you.

Goose Green Mutual Aid Official Website!
colville09 replied to ED Bird's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Brilliant...a million thanks for doing this -
Such is the priority of the council that they came by last night unveiling the CPZ notices on our street. What planet are they living on. How dare they. Surely they should be redeploying their traffic wardens to deliver to vunerable people and key workers. I feel a howl of rage. We don't even have a car but feel disgust at what they regard as being important at this time.

If you can keep your head... (update 1)
colville09 replied to Administrator's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Thank you admin for all the amazing work you are doing. Might it be possible as the situation evolves to have a subsection that lists the aid group contact details and roughly what areas they cover. It would be a real help to know who to contact if we have friends in trouble who live who are in the area but not immediately near us and so not covered by the great people who have dropped a leaflet through our door. Many many thanks, your work is very appreciated -
Just wanted to ask because I have a friend there who will need shopping help in times to come. Thanks
