  1. Oh, and dulwichbloke. I'm loving your work.
  2. I liked TLS for the most part, and think he was kind of pigeonholed as some sort of BNP member. He may have voted UKIP or something, but I never found him nasty. I feel there is a nasty undercurrent with this new bloke though.
  3. Well quite. I was assuming that this avenue had already been explored, being as it's the obvious first step. Sorry, hope I dont come across as wanting someone to get in to trouble, just think this is interesting.
  4. Dont get me wrong Jah, I'd love Spurs to win the CL. The only thing thats wound me up this season is the way the fans have often talked like they're old hands at being a top team, rather than on an exciting journey on the way up. Dont know what it is about Arsenal, but I just never get excited about them these days, I preferred the team of the late 90s as they were exciting. Yes Arsenal play great football, but it's somehow too clinical for my tastes. Still, I'd rather them than United or Chelsea, especially given the latter's recent signing.
  5. DJKillaQueen Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > East Dulwich is as diverse as > anywhere in London Not sure about that, but the rest of the post is cool. We need to find a way to get kids to stop tooling up.
  6. Write to Southwark? Dont know if it would do much good, but surely a letter signed by a significant amount of parents would at least raise some eyebrows. Perhaps the head needs some guidance, has she been a head before? Must admit though, it saddens me that society is so bothered about academic achievement at primary level!
  7. If you get a council place, take it. Private homes may look a bit nicer, but council service and care will be better in my experience (working for social services in other London boroughs).
  8. Have to agree. Have always liked Spurs, but the fans have been unbearable at times this season! (not just you Jah, althoug you've had your moments ;-))
  9. Just want to add my sympathies, and to agree with Rosie. I will admit though, that when I saw the thread title, and the username Peeps, I did think this would be a wind up. I'm sad to hear I was wrong!
  10. I bought our daughter "in the night garden, the complete songs and rhymes book & cd", which she loves. She seems to have lost interest in the tv show, but loves the book, and really responds to it.
  11. Out of interest, how woke you say Goodrich has "lost it's way"? What thins would you like to see happening there? As an aside, goodrich comes out as homesick when using predictive text.
  12. Hislordshiplane is probably a troll, he sent me a PM, saying something along the lines of "at least I can afford the choice", which was referring to living in sevenoaks. How anyone can pick a thread like this to wind people up, is beyond me. If he's not a troll, he's just sad.
  13. West Ham, much like Charlton in SE London, is a real community club, and I think it would be great if they get the ground. Spurs in the East End... Just not right!
  14. Can't remember who it's by, but shark in the park is cool.
  15. I know what you mean Citizen, and I had some sympathy, until I got to the last bit. In answer to I'd imagine it's because the owners realised they could make a pretty penny.
  16. To be fair to Mike Ashley (and believe me, I don't want to be), he just got ?35m for Andy Carroll. Whilst I'm pleased Liverpool signed him, that is a massive amount of money for the player.
  17. Exactly, and they seem to be experts on it too. What brum said.
  18. Ha, that is a very good point.
  19. "Peepo" by Janet & Allen Ahlberg is a classic, and we've found it's a very good bedtime book, as is "Husherbye" by John Burningham. Bear Hunt is good fun, and the copy we got came with a DVD, so you have a little tune that goes along with it (if that makes sense). In fact, here is a video of the (slightly manic) author doing it. (the DVD isn't this video, which is probably a good thing!)
  20. I hope so, because this Is taking the p!ss. I think so too, and as well as Carroll, we're forgetting Suarez Now it may not be the greatest league, but he definitely knows where the net is! As I said before, I'm actually quite excited, and good riddance to a player who thinks he'll do better elsewhere, and so didn't even bother for the team paying his wages.
  21. Heh. I may have missed a quote ms something, but on the bbc website, all the Torres quotes are about how great Chelsea is, and how he's always wanted to play for a top team. Not even a farewell to Liverpool. Ian StJOHN was on radio 4 earlier, and he sounds well pleased about getting Carroll. He seems to think Torres has been plotting this for a while, and hasn't been tryin for the reds. No idea if that is true, but he's certainly shown no love for the pool.
  22. Right now yeah. But if it works out, this will look like great business.
  23. As has just been pointed out to me, we've just signed 2 strikers who can score, for 7 or 8 mil. That doesn't sound too bad.
  24. Hmm, maybe you're right actually. Nothing would surprise me wih a football player's contract these days, but they tend to give the players the power, rather than doing a club any god, so perhaps it's just more wishful thinking on my part. In that case, it'l have to be a studs up challenge from Stevie G, to take him out for the rest of the season! In all seriousness, we're losing a great player, but with the exception of a few moments of real class, he's not exactly set the world on fire since well before the World Cup, and that's not all down to injuries. Good luck to him, but I'm excited about 2 new strikers in for Liverpool, and the likes of Babel no longer hanging around, it's made me excited about the rest of the season. Not suggesting we're going to win anything, but having had the first half of the season that we've had, seeing an improvement, with some goals, will please the fans.
  25. Doubt Liverpol will allow Torres to play against them next week.
