  1. Hi Fuuschia, The Lanes are great midwives once you are on their radar. I moved to ED mid-way through my last pregnancy & wasn't really on anyone's pre-natal care. The Lanes were fully booked & Kings could only fit me in if someone cancelled, so my GP at DMC saw me every 2 weeks from 30 weeks on. I am also 15 weeks into baby number 2 & cant imagine how stressful your past 24 hours must have been. The Lanes midwives are community based & out seeing patients most days, so unless you are on their radar, getting hold of one of them can be tricky. Once you do get registered & allocated a midwife, she will give you all the contact details (including pager no.) so this kind of thing will not happen during the rest of your pregancy. Good luck & take care of yourself.
  2. Our little one is very active in his sleep.. He can babble, cry, thrash about & even crawl in his sleep. Like Ko, I wouldn't worry too much - I think some babies are a little more active in dreamland than others.
  3. I used the same u-shaped pillow fuschia described - I loved it. At the time, I was thinking ?40 was outrageous for a pillow, but 6 months of comfortable sleeping was definitely worth every penny. There is a huge range on www.maternitypillow.co.uk.
  4. Sounds very dodgy. All the paper recycling bags were removed from our street (Heber Road) last week. I assumed they were removed on collection day & just not being replaced. I'd really like mine back if the council collection guys didn't take it!
