Another recommendation for Andy who came last week to paint a ceiling and fix a cupboard door. He did a great job and went the extra mile by going out to pick up paint and a new hinge when we didn?t have what was needed.

I am wondering if anyone knows the exact plans for increasing the ED Charter year 7 intake. We would be slightly outside the catchment if we were applying this year. But I understand there are plans to increase intake from 180 to 240. The website says 210 from September 2022. Would they then extend to 240 in 2023 or is that still to be decided? All intel welcome! Thank you

Criteria for Kingsdale School
newbestfriend replied to Eggybread's topic in The Family Room Discussion
What is the criteria for entry to Haberdashers? East Dulwich is well outside the catchment but have kids got in through a music scholarship route. Is distance irrelevant with that route? -
When is ED Leisure Centre reopening?
newbestfriend replied to newbestfriend's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Oh and it is 50 min sessions at the gym and then they close for ten minutes for cleaning before the next group arrives. Which sounds like a sensible system -

Help! Ideas needed for a grown up day in London!
newbestfriend replied to newbestfriend's topic in The Lounge
Thanks folks! Still haven?t quite decided what to do but lots of ideas here. Will report back! -
My husband and I have a child free day and night planned in London on Thursday and have no idea what to do. I'm terrified we are going to waste our time wandering around and not sure where to go. We have a vague plan for cocktails and dinner in soho but would really appreciate ideas for things to do in the afternoon or great spots for a snifter and luxurious dinner? Thanks all!

I found Nicola Watseon on this site at http://www.childsleepsolutions.co.uk/ I had a 90 minute phone consultation about my one year old son (at the time). It was honestly the best money I've Speer spent and wish I had done it sooner. would thoroughly recommend.

Thanks for the ideas! Much appreciated. A Fitbit is a good thought I hadn't considered and I will check out the boxing class too!

Hello folks Now that we are in the summer holidays I'm trying to keep up my exercise but with two kids in tow. I find it really hard getting to the gym in the evening when I just want to collapse on the sofa. I'm wondering what other people do? Does anyone have any recommendations for exercise classes where I can take the children (mine are one and four)? Or other ideas for burning some calories? I think we could do with an aerobics class with a CBeebies cinema in an adjoining rom. I wonder if I could patent that? Thanks in anticipation....

My son is 8 weeks and suffering too. My daughter was exactly the same. I introduced a dummy which gives some comfort (and you can get rid of it when the pain passes) and I put my hand firmly on his tummy while he is moaning. And as much burping as possible. This seems to calm him a bit. I reassure myself that he isn't in masses of pain. It's more that he is getting used to the feeling of pooing and farting and his little insides aren't wuite developed yet. My daughter grew out of it but not until I had angsted myself to the doctor several times and tried everything around. it will pass. But realise that isn't that helpful when you are in the thick of it

Primary catchment map for 15/16 intake?
newbestfriend replied to newbestfriend's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Thanks for your help everybody. It all looks like a mysterious art to me but will try and get my head around it.... -
Hello I've seen the really useful thread with the 14/15 catchment map and discussion but wondering if there is now the equivalent for this year's intake (15/16)? I couldn't find anything online. The 16/17 process is now starting and I'd be interested to know whether there are any changes in catchments. Does anyone know?

Folks I'm interested in becoming a school governor (doing some public service, getting more involved in the community etc). I've been trying to fathom how to go about this but there doesn't seem to be much information except some generic stuff from Southwark. Does anyone know of any vacancies?

Any tips for where to go for new year? We want to stay local (Lordship Lane or thereabouts) but haven't noticed anything particular going on (except some do at the EDT that I'm not sure I fancy).

You lot are brilliant. Even an insight into the travelling health of the EDF. So far I have been bussing it as I'm in the Loz camp of serenity over speed. Have found that if the 176 is too full to stop (when I get on outside ED Train station) I can get the no 40 to the Wandsworth road and then change to the no 12, hence missing out the overly long no 12 trek through Peckham. This is a reassuring back up plan. I will get the train from ED to LB/LB to CharingX when I'm in a hurry though. My boyfriend did that in 40 minutes last night and swears he couldn't have done it any faster even with some crocodile dundee styles. I may try the 185 to Oval/Northern Line option at some point - a very creative option. Thanks guys. Let me know if you want me to referee the race. I love a bit of needless competitiveness. xxx
