  5. You must make sure the parents are tested for health conditions that affect the breed, especially PRA Progressive Retinal Atrophy, its hereditary and my Poodle has been blind since 5 years old, its previlant in Schnauzers. Lovely temprament, we got one for my 9 year old neice, he died aged 16 or 17 and he got a bit grumpy when he was really old, but he was a cracker of a dog, good with kids etc. As for grooming, they are meant to have a wirey coat which if you were showing would need to be handstripped, but most Schnauzers seem to have a soft coat nowadays and therefore need to be clipped, this should be done about every 10 weeks depending on how you want your dog to look, shaggy or preened, they have hair in their ears which is usually plucked during the groom. A neutered dogs coat can change (hormones) ie a black Schnauzer can turn really silvery and a salt and pepper can fade, this can also happen if they are clipped. Over all, I like them, I love the square terrier look, but they are more laid back, they can have a high pitched bark, even as they get older, not all do though, there are loads in the area at Peckham Rye park and Dulwich your bound to come across some, do your research, especially when it comes to a good breeder and the health issues, happy hunting and I hope I was helpful :)

  11. I'm so sorry your dog and daughter had to go through this, can you be a bit more specific on the description of the dogs? Most collies are fairly small, were they long haired or shorthaired? Lab size or bigger or smaller? Sorry to be a pain, just trying to help, love to your daughter and dog xx
  12. Ooooh I wonder if I could say my 3 are emotional support dogs..... would LOVE to be able to take them on the plane, there is no way I would put them in the hold. Wish I had my own plane....

  18. I hate fireworks, my dogs thankfully aren't afraid, but last night their were some real whistling ones outside and they were a bit spooked. I have signed many petitions over the years and nothing has ever been done, I don't want them banned but I would like the sale of fireworks to the public banned, they do go on far too long, all you lot taking the mick obviously haven't had a dog terrified of them, it's not nice, some children are afaid too, I hope they do get banned for public sale, except for public displays on certain dates and not for every Tom, Dick and Harry's party or celebration. I'm not bah humbug either before anyone says.
  19. My neice treated my mum and dad to a meal in the Shard, can't remember which restaurent, it was expensive but they LOVED it, they were looked after by the staff and had a table right by the window, the food was superb too :)

  22. When I called Orange twice last week, they said nothing about masts or coverage in the area, they just got me to try other peoples Orange sim cards in my phone etc etc, but no ones worked, as the coverage on my phone is fine away from my house, I thought it was a mast problem, but they kept saying it wasn't, I felt they were fobbing me off! I've always had very good coverage, but I think I'll have to change, thanks for confirming what I thought everyone :) very annoying though!
  23. I agree ED - NAGAIUTB
