Very happy to recommend Aston again. So straightforward and pleasant to deal with and always does a great job. Repaired fences for us and some guttering this time. 07490947355

Another very happy customer. Aston has just given us a new shed felt roof and completed a small woodwork job. He is great to deal with - good communication, quick quote and booked me in swiftly. He did a lovely job and was very friendly and considerate. 07490 947355

Another happy customer for David and Patrick. We had a leak assessed and diagnosed at the start of the week and had it fixed and various other problems discovered and repaired on our main roof and flat roofs by the end of the week. Quick, efficient, clean and friendly service. Good value and all miraculously achieved without costly scaffolding on this occasion. Thank you Norwood Roofing!

Another glowing recommendation for Aria. We had a new kitchen tap fitted - he quickly sourced one for me and fitted it in a morning. He was very thorough and helpful and also checked radiators for me. Nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommended.

Very happy to recommend Nick and his skilled team. We just had 4 sets of shelves built in alcoves and painted. The spaces were very tricky and they have done a perfect job, seamlessly blending them in with the existing framework. They were great to have in the house - considerate, tidy, professional and friendly. I would not hesitate to use them again. Even though it was raining they managed to do most of the cutting outside to save us from the dust, which I was very grateful for.

Hello Thanks Verds, that is helpful. I used my old Eadmissions log-on, as I understood I should do, and added the younger daughter, so she is now on the system, so I need Southwark to change it their end. If I had started anew with a new account with Lewisham maybe that would have been the answer but I can't now do that! I guess that explains why I seem to the the only one with this problem...

Hello all Hoping this has happened to someone else who can advise on what to do - I don't like to post negative things but I am stumped. I am trying to apply for second daughter's sibling place in reception. Since applying for my first daughter's place a few years ago, we have moved borough. The Eadmissions website won't let me change my address because of the borough change and tells me to contact Southwark. Southwark are being unhelpful and despite several emails (told me first that they could do it when they tried and then to talk to Lewisham when I insisted I could not) and 3 phone calls (haven't yet managed to talk to anyone who knows) I have made no progress. Lewisham refers me to Eadmissions and Eadmissions refers me back to Southwark! It must be so simple and must happen all the time! Has this happened to anyone and how did you resolve it? I can't create a new account because the children exist on the system. Thanks!

Ideas please! Birthday day out for a 5 year old
Claref replied to crystal7's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Took mine to All Fired Up last year for a cake and some painting. She loved it. -
Soft, white elephant baby toy found on Silvester Road. Let me know if it is yours.

Have you seen a small black and white soft cow, lost this morning around Crystal Palace Road? Very special to a small person, despite having seen better days. We would be very happy to find it! Thanks very much.

My baby is nearly 7 months and has always been a very sicky baby, but like yours has never had any weight problems. For her the pain side of it peaked at 4 months (was worst from 3-4 months, probably because I didn't give her gaviscon at an early age) and now doesn't seem to bother her much, but she is still sick all the time. I breastfed and at one point she found it very difficult to feed comfortably and we found success with slightly odd positions (more upright, such as sitting on my lap when she was old enough or with me standing when she was smaller). I used to express milk to mix with her gaviscon after her feeds, and this certainly seemed to help her at night time. I remember the dreadful evenings of inconsolable crying, which was the worst bit for me, so I can really sympathise and it made naps impossible unless we were out in the buggy. We had her moses basket raised at quite an angle and used a wedge to stop her sliding to the bottom. It is overwhelming but it passes so quickly and does get better. I too visited a cranial osteopath and things did improve after that, but it may just have been the time.

Thanks everyone. Damzel - sounds awful! I think I'd find it very stressful too. I've pretty much decided on the local nursery now (Peckham Rye), but will see how it goes once I start back. Sledge, hope you get a local nursery place soon.

Bugaboo Bee owners - what do you think of it?
Claref replied to Ko's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Yes, when we were out, at first - friends had big prams and their babies seemed to sleep for hours. She sleeps in it well now. -
Thanks for all the advice - I think I'll do some trial runs before committing. Really good to hear a mixture of experiences. Unfortunately the journey may mean a bus, train and tube, so I think it might be too much.

Bugaboo Bee owners - what do you think of it?

I have had one since birth and my baby is very happy in it at 6 months - I can't speak for later obviously. The only downside was I don't think she slept as well in it at first as she would have done in a proper pram. It's very easy to get around and I love the size of it. I have no regrets. -
Thanks both very much for your advice. You have confirmed what my head was telling me, though I so much wanted to hear that it would be fine.

Does anyone commute to a nursery near their workplace in London? I've just been offered a nursery place for my 8 month old baby near where I work, but can't decide if the journey would be too stressful, though I love the idea of having her near me. Would love to hear if you have experienced this.
