Hi is anyone else experiencing terrible postal service from Royal Mail? I?ve had no second class post for 1 month now and am expecting 4 or 5 items that haven?t shown up. I?m on Landells road and it?s the 29 March.

I have no problem with them charging, the fee is very small. But what is nuts is that they will provide a 4th bin that can be knocked over by foxes and have to make another collection when it all gets composted in the same place anyway. To register for the service you have to order another garden bin when we already have one. All these extra costs go way beyond the ?25 they are charging. It?s nuts. Has anyone made sense of this?

WE had a leaflet from Southwark saying they will charge ?30pa for collection. I think this is reasonable. However it seems that people are not putting using this bin for their food waste bags, or they would be used more. I encourage everyone to use the facility of Food Waste collection as this is a wonderful way to reduce waste and you can buy back the compose created from the Tip in Old Kent Road. We are very lucky that Southwark provides this service and I dont mind at all paying a bit extra a year for it.

Yes this is a great service. You can also take along a measuring jug to fill up bottles. Also has anyone used Naked Larder in Herne Hill. Great way to buy dry stuff without packaging.

Thanks for your messages, it definately is true, why does it seem so odd, and yes Ratty that is a simlar description - how did you know? I dont think that screaming would have got my phone back, he would have bolted and that would have been the end of it. Surely better to sort out your own problems that scream, cause a scene and not resolve it? I did try to find the security guard but he wasnt around. And Guna Nua, I dont think your comment is suitable for this forum - not the innocent brush off of your later post, i think its offensive. Most people in ED are really nice and honest and I like to believe people are innocent until proven guilty, I dont want to go about like a paranoid lunatic, but yes appreciate leaving bags open with phones sticking out is stupid and I will curb my behaviour.

Hi I posted something last night about a weird mobile phone theft to make people aware and its been removed i think as i cant see it on there now. Does anyone know why?

So I was just in the Sainsburys local on Lordship Lane with my Iphone stupidly sitting on the top of my bag. I was semi conscious of it but in a rush. As I picked up my basked I noticed this cute guy just in front of me, which I have to say is a rare occurrence in ED (sorry guys!). Anyway, as I was choosing a yogurt I felt him very close to me, and thought hello, but then I realised his hand had taken my phone from the top of my bag. It seemed so weird that I half questioned myself thinking, maybe its in here somewhere, frantically looking, and then, maybe its in the car. But then I noticed him putting it in his pocket, I have a white butterfly cover which is quite distinctive. So I followed him around the store wondering what I should do. He started putting his shopping back all neatly on the shelves and then put his basket back. Then he put up his hood and left the store. I thought, I cant let him get away with this, so I followed him out and went up to him saying, "excuse me but you have taken my phone". Instead of running or being rude he said "er what" and handed me his phone, so I said no there pointing to his pocket and I reached in and took it back. Now is that the weirdest and least sucessful phone theft or what? Only explanation I can think is that he was really stoned! Anyway peeps, watch out for pretty boys, they are not all that they seem.

Ummm really sorry to hear about this. It happened to me a few years ago outside the police station. I have to say the police were completely useless. They seem to wait in a car, follow you and then jump out just when its a bit dark (like at the back of the police station!). We all must be aware but not paranoid!

I agree that the xmas lights are rubbish. they have used the same ones every year for the last 12 years that ive been here and im sure they have been around at least as long as when fireworks were ok as christmas decorations!?? Im all for reusing things but cant we have something a bit more upmarket? Whats wrong with some plain lights around the poles? It makes me cringe every time i pass!

I wouldnt recommend painting your house no on as then they will know which house to break into for the keys!

Thank you, the facts here are a little different as the 1st we heard of it was from our insurance co who said hed been in accident and given his details which he definitely did not. The insurance co contacted them and asked them to provide a description of him which they couldnt. However now it has gone to court as the other side said the insurance co didnt respond but we had only just heard of it. It all seems very odd to me but now it could be considered their word against ours. the car has no damage but now it seems too late to demand an inspection. sounds like we need to be firmer about demanding an inspection.

Hi Has anyone got experience of being wrongly accused of being in a car accident. My boyfriend has been accused of hitting another car in east dulwich but he did not. There is no damage to his car but they have registration number and car details. If anyone has any experience of this sort of thing i would be grateful for your advice. Thanks
