Company: Kinetic - UK's no 1 specialist, out of home media planning & buying agency Location: Primarily Clerkenwell Green, (short walk from Farringdon station) and really easy to commute from Peckham Rye area by train or bus Salary: up to £32k for 4 days p/w About the role: This is an incredibly important role within the agency because it has an impact on everyone – from the most experienced of the Leadership Team to the youngest Team Assistant - and in every imaginable way. You are directly responsible for helping make everyone’s working experience smooth, efficient and even enjoyable. That also makes it incredibly rewarding – it makes a difference to people all the time, every day. Purpose of the role: This is a role that has 3 areas of responsibility: 1. PA to Leadership Team (comprising of 4) and Global COO (45% of time) 2. Office management – the lynchpin to the smooth running of the office, helping everyone and anyone with anything (40% of time) 3. Events management – on going support of the Social Committee (volunteers) and all formal agency events (15% of time) We think you’d enjoy this role if you have: = Positive disposition – we love ‘radiators’ at Kinetic = Bags of common sense - motivated to find solutions to problems = Highly organised – every element of this role depends on this = Good communicator – written and spoken = Anticipator– to support the Leadership Team, you need to be one step ahead of them and their diaries, organising travel, doing their expenses, arranging meetings and catering, minuting Weekly Sales Meeting, essentially their ‘right hand person’ = Responsive – organising and solving on-going needs of the office and its people – from pass cards, to working with the main reception and security, liaising with our building management and our 3rd party facilities company (cleaning and maintenance); overseeing fire regulations and Health & Safety, kitchen management (weekly food order, coffee machine etc), key point of contact for IT support (incl photocopiers), helping with AV equipment, managing our hot desk diary for media owners, lockers, stationery, and everything else in between! = Strong on detail – especially regarding events - some will be in partnership with the Social Committee and some will be stand-alone Kinetic events but the buck stops here, managing every detail – from invitations to diary management, seeking budget approval, sourcing food/drink/catering, equipment, host on the day, layout and even a bit of clear up. Requirements: • This role is a 4 day per week role – Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday • This role requires you to be in the office (The Buckley Building, Clerkenwell Green, London EC1R 0EB) every Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday
  2. A1 Chimney Sweeps - main guy is Mick on 0208 7774674 or 07860 263874. They have an efficient telephone/diary person and they are reliable, straight forward in approach and a fair price. They have become my regular chimney sweeps.
  3. I can highly recommend Tina Bareham. She has made a number of pairs of curtains and Roman blinds for me and every one has been spot on and beautifully made. She gives good advice and couldn't be more accommodating in terms of speed and delivery etc. She is also incredibly reasonably priced. She's a real find. Her number is 07882 316436.
  4. Just a quick post to recommend Garbiela and her team. She will visit you and recommend/agree how much cleaning you need and then one of her team will become your regular cleaner. It's almost the best of both worlds - you have "your" cleaner but if they are on holiday or away then you have the broader team as back up. Her number is 07792 265865.
  5. If you're looking for a very good wooden floor restorer, give Steve Loftus @ Back to Wood a call on 07949 411650. He stripped, filled and varnished our floors (as well as the all important clear up - the dust goes everywhere!) and we're really pleased with the result.

  8. Very sad to find my local laundrette on East Dulwich Road's little parade of shops has closed. Can anyone recommend a friendly local alternative where I can leave my washing to be dried? Thanks.
  9. Perhaps this happened to the dry cleaner by the roundabout? According to its owner, last week he was locked out of his shop by the landlord who had reviewed his rent and hiked it and there is now a new person running the shop. A real shame - they are a local family who couldn't have been nicer...

  11. I might be able to shed a bit of light on how exactly the tables did end up where they are... on Monday, I spoke with the chap who had actually placed and screwed them there. He was asked to put two tables under the trees by East Dulwich Road but realised that they would get covered in bird mess and therefore used his initiative and decided to place them away from the trees - not knowing of course that this is the preferred football area which he now knows about from his 'guvnor' and can see that the new positions aren't ideal. So it sounds like simply a case of human error...
