Hi I need a gardener for a day one day (Mon-Thurs) this week. Tasks include removing ivy from a shed covered in the bleeding stuff, weeding, digging over raised borders, etc. £20 an hour. Please DM me if interested or have any questions.

Can I also recommend Andy for handyman things and decorating. I have used him about 6 times for various jobs to the extent I asked his to renovate a BTL property I have in East London. He, together with an apprentice completed everything (replaced bathroom suite, full redecoration of the inside and outside of the house, bring back to life the kitchen and strip back the garden which all had been vandalised by the previous tenants). He completed the project in the time he said he would and the finish was of a high standard and was even positively commented about by the letting agent. I will be using Andy for any future work that I need doing. Think I should add here that I have been ripped off by builders in the past (one to the extent of a £50k) so am very cautious about hiring a new builder/decorator and definitely would not recommend one if I was not 100% about their honesty and reliability.

We have just used Andy for a verity of jobs (inc cutting down an over massively over grown hedge, putting up shelfs and pictures and building a TV cabinet).. All the work was completed to a good standard, he was polite and was a very reasonable rate. Highly recommended.

Hi All, My tap started dripping yesterday and today it is dripping considerable faster. Do not want to get the to the stage where I have to turn the water off as it is gushing out during Christmas. I have tried my usually DIY guy but he is booked up until the new year so is there a plumber or advanced DIYer who can fix it asap. I can pay in cash rather than transferring it electronically if that swings your availability. Or if anyone knows anyone with availability please shout out. Thanks you so much. ste

Question: How are the small number of businesses located at the bottom of Melbourne Grove affected by the road closure. Their customers can still access their stores by using the other entrance to the street. Are they saying customers zooming down the street at 30 mph (it is a 20 mph zone) suddenly think I have to pull over I need some 2nd hand clothes or are doing an emergency stop because they need a facial (which I am guessing would require an appointment). TBH I could see the coffee shop not wanting it closed but the rest of it is @rse. Not sure why I am wasting my life on a sunny Sunday putting up this post so I will stop.

Why can people not understand that access to Melbourne Grove is still available they (Local Authority) have simply blocked one way to stop it being a rat run. I think people are making things up to suit their arguments. It is disgraceful.

@donkennelhillbilly - Do most cars not inc start/stop tech to ensure there is less population? Additionally the whole point is to reduce the number of cars.

@Abe_Frorume I am confused why you are concerned by this. Ensuring buses can run better surely a good thing. Would you prefer that public transport be hampered. Buses in South London are the most important element of the public transport infrastructure. The tube does not slow down because someone decides to block the line. Additionally buses are using social distancing at the moment so are transporting less passengers. Well done Southwark council for this change.

@Rockets 'and then manipulated by the council for their own benefit'. Why would a council manipulate the data. They want to reduce the number of cars. It does not matter If Southwark have a lower car use than most other boroughs as if it is still high then you need to do something. rockets, this is not rocket science.

@Spaticus - I am not sure I need to set up a petition as the road is blocked off, which is what the community needs. However, I do mot think that 92% of he population would sign a counter petition as a some people do not have an opinion on the closure. I am bored of pointless questions.

@Spartacus 'Looks like, at present, the petition has nearly a thousand signatures which is about 8% of the total population of East Dulwich (based on 2011 census details) and considering it's focusing only on one small area that's pretty convincing support against the road closures in my opinion'. I am not sure how you equate 8% as pretty convincing support. I would consider 92% not signing it as more convincing. What percentage would sign a petition to keep Melbourne Grove closed? and when I say closed, it bleeding well isn't. it has a barrier at one end so cars can still access it from the other side if they want/need to access the shops. I honestly cant understand why people don't get this. Well they probably do but that does not help their selfish argument.
