  1. Not a Scam. Delivery man told me he will lose his job if he fails to get DOB which is required for specified items, E.g. blades or knives or any age restricted items.
  2. Little bit of amusing trivia I came across here https://www.layersoflondon.org/map/records/green-cross-code-man-filmed-in-north-cross-rd-1975 The film in question is visible here I think the starting location is at the corner of Fellbrig Road. So many changes since then
  3. Were they? Did they breathe the smoke of 10 thousand coal fires? Did they smoke? Did they have access to clean water? Did they have access to healthcare ? Did they have anti-biotics, vaccines and other modern 'miracles' Did they have sedentary lives? I agree with many of the things TaraFitness is saying. Just bear in mind that there are many positives and negatives about modern life. The quality and quantity and variety of the food we eat is almost entirely under our control and much of that will have a bearing on our health.
  4. I've just had Nick and his team replace 11M of fencing. They did a very good job which I am completely happy with. It's really satisfying to find workers who will do a good job at a reasonable price, and as pointed out above by people who put in effort and care about the outcome and is Polite, efficient, and Professional. I can highly recommend Nick and his team. He doesn't just do fencing, Ask him about decking and other outdoor work.
  5. Is this the 3rd or indeed the 4th time that the lorries delivering to Buildbase have smashed the corner flat. These must be the shoddiest build quality of any building I have ever seen. And badly designed give the narrow road and business at the end of it. As a warning to prospective purchasers, they are made out of plasterboard, insulation and a skim of fake brick cladding. And all for ?450K min.
  6. Robert Poste's Child Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > To be fair to the M&S food hall staff, they're > probably freezing. Indeed, Most M&Ss are next to Antarctica on the comfort scale. They were probably huddling to keep warm
  7. Hi, I've just had 3 ceilings and a wall plastered by Aaron He's local to ED. His charges are reasonable and his work is first class. He's also a very pleasant person. We're completely satisfied and I expect you will be too. Call him on 0777 341 0661
  8. EMERGENCY RESPONSE ?????? Get a grip Do you really want to delay police or ambulance to a real emergency ?
  9. New book out on Lulu.com and Amazon.co.uk ( kindle ) Available localy at Chenner books Preview it on Lulu and you will find a well polished humourous style, and loads of laugh out loud moments, along with a genuine humanistic support for the underdog. Those interested in Liverpool, UK politics, football and running will be well rewarded. Highly recomended.. Product Description ?An involvement in running marathons is unhealthy; physically, mentally, socially and too many other alleys to go into.? Set mainly in and around Merseyside between 1982 and 1992, this is the story of one man?s journey from disillusioned footballer to deluded runner. In turbulent and often tragic times locally, nationally and globally, this book takes a serious look at contemporary events while simultaneously providing a light-hearted view of an obsession with putting one foot in front of the other, as quickly as possible, without falling over. The Beatles , Nelson Mandela, Michael Jackson, Maggie Thatcher, to name but a few, join us on a whistle-stop magical cultural tour of the 80s, sometimes reaching speeds of ten miles an hour. In many ways this is also a love story; a love of people, places and plodding along on the Blackstuff.
  10. That's exactly how they were arranged, excluding the one out of picture on the road. Maybe it's someone attending Camberwell School of Art ;-) a right piss artist
  11. The Co-op is the latest war zone. Jeremy was surely there to report in the latest international fiasco
  12. Last week I was thinking he had stopped as I hadnt seen any bottles for quite a while, ( I presume a he so I will stick to referring to the culprit as he ) So imagine my surprise yesterday morning 1O Oct 12 He really as outdone himself this time I counted 28 bottles in all see pic attached. He hadnt stopped, he was just making a bigger effort to save up his output for one spectacular Can people please stop talking about a cabbie and oil I havent tested the stuff but it is watery, not oily. This is likely to be a local person with personality/mental problems. It's not causing any harm, but is equally annoying and mysterious. having said that, any volunteers in the area to install a webcam/cctv overlooking that corner of Crawthew/Worlingham roads
  13. This is a total NO NO I live in crystal palace Road and successfully campaigned againest The Actress ( as it was previously ) getting a similar extension. I dont want this pub to be a magnet for already drunk people coming up from Lordship lane etc to continue making noise until after 2 AM. THIS IS A RESIDENTIAL AREA. Once drunk these same people will make their way home NOISILY as usual back through the same residentil streets The owners should know better than to piss off their local residents by applying for this I'M BOYCOTTING THE PUB FROM NOW ON, and encourage other to do the same, at least until the decision is made. I like the pub at present, and have had nice food and drink there, and like the atmosphere, but this is going too far.
  14. There are lots of Mosquitos in ED gardens. So they are a prime suspect. it's difficult to determine exaclty what bit/stung you, and the reaction is very variable between individuals. I'd like to encourage people to ensure there are no resevoirs, however small, of water in their properties. Turn over buckets, unused water butts, pots , anything that can contain water, and is unused.
