  1. I am at The Gardens. I saw GP on a Wednesday and he recommended physio, he checked availability and offered Tessa Jowell Centre for Saturday at 1 pm or Forest Hill Road Practice on a Monday at 11 am. I chose FH- very efficient/ Physio at FH very helpful, sent me some neck exercises and referred me for spinal assessment at Kings.
  2. Local History Library in Southwark has lots of information.
  3. Most surgeries have catchment areas - whereabouts are you? Have been with The Gardens for over 20 years- I do not make appointments on line and prefer to do this by telephone or in person. They have a pharmacist attached to them who rings up to check if medication is appropriate or if any concerns. Practice nurses are very friendly and efficient.
  4. Apparently cameras are going up shortly which will capture registration plates and drivers will receive a fine.
  5. Try Niko - plenty of reviews on EDF. He dealt with our antiquated water system (old high level toilet)
  6. Buses, emergency vehicles and a couple of other categories will be exempt. Cyclists will continue to be able to use the street both ways.
  7. According to my daughter and granddaughter- the Portsmouth area is very reasonable for rental properties and house purchases. Friends fed up with London prices have moved to the outskirts of Portsmouth and commute to London once a week. They are currently renting at less than half the cost of their London rental and are now saving up to buy a property. Also try Durrington on Sea and Goring by Sea in West Sussex. Train stations near by, good local shops and schools. Roughly a couple of miles from Worthing Town for a larger shopping area. Loads of hypermarkets (Sainsburys. Tesco. Aldi. Asda) Plenty of Garden Centres. Rustington is also a good area .
  8. Etherow Street will become a school street soon. Will affect St. Anthony's especially since they have a wide catchment area and children are dropped off by parents on their way to work. Inconsiderate parking has always been a problem - my daughter attended there in the late 1980s/early 90s. Members of the PTA took turns in trying to monitor the situation and were frequently verbally abused.
  9. East Dulwich Community Centre Darrell Road. SE22 9NL. BARA AGM Notice 2024.pdf
  10. At last week's SNT meeting- it was highlighted that phone theft was high in ED especially the area around ED Station. Best not to use phone in street, if you have to make a call go into a shop doorway. Keep phone in pocket or bag .
  11. Just a reminder that the Dulwich Hill SNT meeting is to take place Friday 15th March 5 pm at Christ Church Barry Road.
  12. Dulwich Hill have now moved out of their premises in Gipsy Hill and are now placed in Peckham. This has meant many shift changes and difficulties in arranging a meeting date and time. also some change in personnel. The meeting will be held at Christ Church Barry Road on Friday 15th March at 17.00 hrs( 5pm)
  13. Admittedly I am not a fan of eating on public transport, but admit to eating the odd sandwich on the bus when I was working. I was not always office based and some days would be travelling by bus various places in Southwark (which did not have car parking) so ate between visits on the bus.
  14. We went over to digital- only 2 phones (cordless could be used the others we had to throw away). Phone which was in the hall is now in the room where the computer is, which means unless you are in that room you cannot hear it ring. The other phone is in the lounge. We need a phone in our bedroom and in the kitchen, whilst engineer was here he ordered with our consent, 2 cordless phones which we were told to expect on 24th December. Not very helpful engineer did not explain anything. When phones did not arrive - phoned up EE who had no record of the order. WE now have to dial 1571 to get messages as not all get recorded on the Ansa phone for some reason.
  15. I have chosen tradespeople from the reviews- some when contacted by PM ignore my request. I did research for a particular tradesperson, noting that he had reviews going back several years (all good and from many people). I was very pleased with his work and costs, and when asked how I got his details, explained that I had checked all his reviews over a number of years before contacting him. I was congratulated for my effort as he explained that he was often called to rectify work done by tradespeople who had been contacted via EDF and people had not checked back reviews (whether they were new posters/regular posters). Needless to say - the tradesperson number is now in my phone and has done other work for me. He is a well known person to many EDF folk.
