Tried it at the weekend. The food was excellent.

The wow factor. 🤮🤮🤮

Just had a delivery from Malabar Feast (in Maxted Road where the Ganapati takeaway used to be). It was absolutely delicious, really well cooked, very generous portions, reasonably priced and very speedy delivery (via Deliveroo but there are other options). Very highly recommended and we shall certainly be ordering from there again!

Memsaab raided by Immigration Enforcement.

Yes that was my first reaction 🤣 -
A quick Google found this, amongst other things: "Social impact models are frameworks or approaches that guide how organizations or initiatives address social or environmental problems."

Crikey. How did you know it was Immigration Enforcement? -
If memory serves, there was rather more to things than that. Young people were being coerced in some way to sell these things by the people running the scam. I am guessing the relevant forum threads no longer exist, as this has been going on for decades round here, and I imagine in other places as well.

Yes but the point of saying "through" or "thru" is that it unambiguously includes Friday!!! "Monday to Friday" might or might not include Friday. "Monday through Friday" very clearly does include Friday. Nothing wrong with a useful expression that just happens to come from America, surely? Much of our modern language does originally, just as much of their language came from us originally. Times change, and all that ....

Advice please - sold item to a business who's now contesting the sale
Sue replied to Naiada's topic in The Lounge
I'd say sending them the affidavit and offering them a full refund for the return of the machines is a great idea. By far the least hassle for you, and will put them on the spot if they have been telling lies. If you end up having to give them the refund, you will be no worse off than you were before the sale (assuming they don't damage the machines, of course). But I know nothing about the legal issues (if any) around all this. Citizens Advice might help if you run into further difficulties? Good luck! -
The point is that these door to door sellers are doing it under false pretences, and claiming to be part of a project that doesn't exist.
-
There are several threads on here about door to door sellers with similar false stories, but I don't know what the thread headings were or how to find them. Someone else may have a better memory! No idea who to contact, possibly the police non urgent number, can't remember what it is, sorry.

Is your objection to the spelling of through, or to the whole phrase (which I think is useful)?

An Introduction to Neurodiversity Event
Sue replied to SASA Health Sensory's topic in What's on in East Dulwich
I would have been interested in this, but it seems extremely expensive for a one hour online event? Also, there are free self assessment tests online for things like autism. -
Crikey. Well as I was inside the house, I only saw it through the glass in my front door, so probably it wasn't strictly "ball lightning" as such. It certainly wasn't moving about! And if it struck Alleyn's, it can't have been in two places at once. But as I said, it "looked like" there was a huge ball of light outside in the road. I was very glad I wasn't standing outside, put it like that 😂 My partner heard the bang in Surrey Quays!
