1920s author who lived near Peckham Rye
mr smith replied to mr smith's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Hi Intexas, She did live there, but in the mid 20s, so she?d have missed the censuses. I?ll PM you though, in case you know of any other documents. Many thanks! -
Dear local historians, Does anyone know the name of the female author who lived overlooking Peckham Rye in the 1920s? My grandmother worked as a nanny, looking after the son called Peter in the mid 1920s. Unfortunately, the name of this author has been forgotten. Bonus points for anyone who knows which house she lived in. Thanks in advance!

Decorator / Bathrooms / Refurb - Gary Skinner - 07572 588222
mr smith replied to firstchoicegary's topic in Reviews
Gary has just completed various jobs for us including repairing a crumbling window sill, made good a facia, and dealt with some internal damp. Work was completed to a good standard and Gary?s pricing was competitive. Definitely recommended!- 120 replies

Peter just finished tiling our patio and did a fantastic job. He was very punctual and professional and we will definitely use him again. PM me for photos.

Dear Inbound, notwithstanding your guide to parallel parking, there was not enough room behind. I?m sorry if the photograph gave you this impression. You can gain a better idea of the space by looking at the kerb stones. Enough for a Smart car perhaps, but not much else. edcam, no need for that; I?m sure Inbound was trying to be helpful.

One of my neighbours suggested I start a thread to highlight some very thoughtless parking by a very unpleasant man. It may not be clear on the photo, but this motorist took up two parking spaces when he could easily have moved his car forward and left enough space behind him. When I politely pointed this out to him, he became really quite aggressive. Oh dear.

former East Dulwich councillor - how can I help?
mr smith replied to James Barber's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I?m genuinely shocked and saddened by this result. What more does this electorate want from a councillor? I?m increasingly thinking democracy is overrated! Thank you James for your fabulous work and legacy in East Dulwich. -

Hi. We also need some damp to be investigated. Did you find anyone? Thanks. -

I would like to add my recommendation for John Power's services. He has just serviced our Vailant boiler and was very courteous and professional throughout.

I've just driven past Townley road and traffic is queuing back past Dulwich hospital to Melbourne Grove. I was caught in this tailback for 10 minutes going the other way earlier this morning. Would I be right in thinking that Southwark council have spent tens of thousands of pounds turning a perfectly reasonable junction into a traffic black spot?

I'm currently at Heathrow (not Gatwick, but there doesn't seem to be a suitable thread...) with my wife and 20 month old son. We're waiting for Airport Direct. This is worrying as AD were 40 minutes late picking us up on the way here last week, and, what's far worse, they lied to us several times about the driver's location. We are really disappointed as we have been using this company for many years without incident. In January however they cancelled one of the two cars we ordered, assuming it was a duplicate booking, and without bothering to check! I wonder if AD are under new management. Certainly their previous high standards have slipped badly. Thanks to those people who have made recommendations on this thread. Needless to say, we shall not be using Airport Direct again!
