    • So glad you are sorted, Sue. Such an easy mistake for some of us to make 🙄
    • yes, it's in-between Acorn Estate agents and Portraits Male Grooming https://www.allinlondon.co.uk/directory/jewellers/242957-jewellery-buying-centre
    • Does anyone know if this shop is still open on Lordship Lane (a couple along from M&S)?  We’ve moved from ED now and google would suggest that it’s still open but I can’t find an email address or telephone number online.  Thanks in advance
    • Sorted. I don't know whether to laugh or cry, but probably laugh. A young (I think) woman - not that that's relevant -  from Which Tech deduced the cause of the problem in about ten minutes or less. She didn't even need remote access. The effing brightness was turned right down. There is a function key f6 on my laptop which turns up the brightness (I had no idea it existed - I was changing the brightness in settings). Using this - when restarting again brought up the dreaded black screen - had  a miraculous effect. Whatever is the opposite of SNAFU I now have it.  Thanks to everyone who has been so helpful, and it just goes to show how easy it is to overlook the simplest things!
