A one-day intermediate level weekend workshop led by Birgit Pohl
Learn how to attach a wooden batt to the wheel head. Practice a variety of flatware shapes on the batt. Immerse yourself in throwing on the wheel for a full day! You can choose up to three pots which will be trimmed, glazed and fired for you. Please note
This intermediate level course will not cover centring or pulling up. Participants must be able to centre 1kg of clay before signing up to the course. Please speak to your teacher if you are not sure if this course is right for you. Cost
£150 Concessionary places £75. As with all courses at the Bell House Pottery we offer two income-based concession tickets at half price, which can be booked directly. Birgit makes wheel-thrown pots in porcelain from her studio in Forest Hill. She aims to balance precision of form with fluidity in surface decoration, being particularly drawn to European ceramics of the early to mid-20th century. Birgit studied at Clay College, Stoke-on-Trent and in November 2022, won Best Thrown Exhibit at the London Potters Annual Members Exhibition. You can follow Birgit on Instagram: @birgitpots

We welcome everybody to our Singarounds to sing or to listen. Songs can be accompanied or unaccompanied solo or duo or more, any genre. It isn't an open mic evening, we don't use mics and we don't use the stage. First to sign up first to sing, just sign up at any time during the evening at the list on the ticket table.
